THE PHOENIX PROJECT
The phoenix is a mythical bird said to rise from its own ashes. A symbol of overcoming and rebirth - the phoenix speaks to the resilience and alchemical potential in all of us. Reminding us that challenging times can offer us new beginnings - a chance to start again with renewed strength and perspective.
Lamb Arts' Phoenix Project focuses on these important elements in all of our lives. The Phoenix Project is in full effect! Stay tuned as this project continues to grow and evolve. You can look forward to more commissioned artwork by professional artists, public art installations, poetry, and free community programs.

The Phoenix in Hopewell:
In our establishing project image, seen above, local Chilean artist Federico Infante has depicted the Phoenix rising above City Point and Downtown Hopewell.
The City of Hopewell is well known for its resilience and ability to recover from difficult times. In the early 19th century, Hopewell became a symbol of hope and inspiration after its rebuilding initiative following a devastating fire. Like the phoenix, the community did not give up but rose from its own literal ashes.
Following years of environmental trauma and economic decline, The Phoenix Project invites us to rise again, evolving into the strong, healthy, proud, optimistic, and thriving community that we believe Hopewell is destined to be.
Guiding Questions:
How can you apply the phoenix’s energy to your own life? When is a time that felt like an ending in your life - but served as an important new beginning? How did you change, and what did you learn along the way?
